The Melaka Heritage & History Discovery Walk highlight some of Malacca’s traditional trades, heritage and historical sights within the city’s old quarters, also known as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Walk covers the following streets:

  • Heeren Street
  • Temple Street
  • Goldsmith Street
  • Blacksmith Street
  • Jalan Kampung Kuli
  • Jalan Kampung Pantai

HIGHLIGHT

Experience the “Street of Harmony”, where houses of worship representing various religion are lined up along an axis. This street illustrates a history of peaceful religious co-existence and cultural exchange among followers of great faiths of Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism:

  • Cheng Hoon Teng Temple
  • Kampung Kling Mosque
  • Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Hindu Temple

Visit UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historical center of Malacca city:

  • St Francis Xavier Church
  • The Stadthuys
  • The Dutch Square
  • Christ Church
  • The ruins of St Paul Church
  • Porta de Santiago
  • Memorial of  Independence
  • The replica of Melaka Sultanate Palace

This Discovery Walk will allow you immerse in the rich heritage and history of Malacca.
You’ll have many opportunities to take short breaks as there are host of local coffee shops, snack shops along the trail and many photos stops.
